Life is a Temporary Assignment

Are we on this world forever? Surely, NOT.

Death is a must.

Therefore we are here for a moment, a short period, just few years. This is the bitter truth.
We are aliens, pilgrims, foreigners, strangers, visitors, and travelers. Based on the understanding that we are here for a brief moment, let face the real truth:

1. Life is short
2. This world is a temporary residence.

Realising that we are here for a brief moment means we should stop worrying about ‘having it all’ here in this world. We are just for a temporary assignment. We will be gone once we accomplish it. The Bible is clear: “Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul.”

It is important to understand that, “The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever”. The material wealth and possessions we see are temporal. We should not be attached to them.

Living a faithful and honesty life might not always guarantee you material and earthly possessions. We need to look forward to better and more satisfying reward than just owning property, making money, achieving goals and gaining power.

It is clearly mistaken to assume that, goals in life are: popular success or material wealth. These are good but, they are not the ultimate purpose of life. The purpose of life is to live for something higher, something more noble, something everlasting knowing that we are here temporarily.
